Constipation: Why It Happens and How to Restore Healthy Bowel Movements

I typically recommend increasing dietary fibre through fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes. Drinking adequate water and maintaining regular physical activity can significantly improve bowel function.

Creating a consistent toilet routine and avoiding prolonged delays when the urge arises can also help.

For persistent constipation, additional investigations may be necessary to rule out thyroid disorders, intestinal obstruction, or colorectal conditions.

Healthy bowel habits play a crucial role in overall digestive health. Seeking treatment early can prevent complications such as haemorrhoids and anal fissures.
